NFL Preview – Week 1 – Thursday

Titans @ Steelers, Thursday 8:30pm
Evan: Steelers won the Super Bowl last year, but it’s not like they dominated all who stood in their way on the way to the title. There will be a Super Bowl hangover. Pick: Titans
Matt: These teams both have dominant defenses and so-so offenses. Should be a hard hitting, low scoring battle. Of course, the whole Terrible Towel stomping incident will probably fire up the Steelers more than usual for a season opener. I’ll be rooting for the Titans, but I think the Steelers take it by a FG. Pick: Steelers
Ahad: This should be a defensive battle. I am not sure how healthy Big Ben is for this game. I don’t see the Super Bowl hangover as being a major obstacle in this game. Pick: Steelers
Mike: The Steelers offense looked terrible at times last season but I seem to remember they figured things out by February. Part of me hopes they still play well, it will make that Eagles loss to the Cardinals easier to take. By the end of the season, they just learned how to win, even with their weaknesses. The Titans did dominate this game last year, but that was in Tennessee. I do like Kerry Collins against this defense more than most. Night game in Pittsburgh? Pick: Steelers
