What are/were your pet’s names?
by Kathleen

My family has gone through cats like no other! The count is up to 7 now. The funny thing is, we have never gone looking for a cat, they’ve just shown up at our door! Aaaanyway, their names have been:
Licorice (he was black, so that one was CLEARLY original)
Neville
Dutch (after Darren Dalton, so you Phillies fans might appreciate that one ;)
Winston
Schroeder (after that kid in Charlie Brown who plays the piano all the time, which seems random, but my mom loves him/plays)
Mr. Bigglesworth (yep, as in, “When Dr. Evil get angry, Mr. Bigglesworth gets upset, and when Mr. Bigglesworth gets upset people die!” haha)
Re-run (by the 7th cat my family was starting to get tired of naming orange tabbies, so my brother suggested Repeat or Re-run haha)
Right now, we only have Mr. Bigglesworth :/ Anyway, long answer, but there it is!

Dogs Only (and a fish)

Spot - Our dog when I was little. He didn’t like us kids much. I don’t remember ever playing with him.
Ping - The fish I won at a carnival. He only lived for a few days but, oh, they were good times. I had grand plans for Ping. Things like getting another fish named Pong. Sadly I couldn’t bear it to get Pong without Ping.
Max - Really Evan’s dog, but he was ours for a year. I’m sure he is very successful in his current position.
Lady & Beau - Our dogs now, the best dogs in the world. Even though they are loud, smell, and eat whatever they can get their paws on (food or otherwise).

Blackie-The dog we had around the time I was born until a few years after that. I am not really sure when he died. I don’t remember too much of him except for pictures of him.
Mitzi-Essentially, my older brother Mike’s dog, a german shepherd.
Spoofer-The older of our two gray cats that once ran away and never came back.
Ditto-The daughter of Spoofer(i think anyways). Obviously named because of her resemblance to her mother.
Scruffy-The daughter of Mitzi, and was essentially my other brother Shawn’s dog. Lived to be 16 years old and would have kept living if not for us putting her to sleep. A mighty pain in the arse she was.
Mittens-Our last cat, who died probably 8-9 years ago now. Named cause of her white paws.
Molly-My “official” first dog. She is the daughter of Pepper, my sister’s now deceased black lab, who decided to have a one night stand with a Chow Chow. Molly is now 13 and still sportin’ her ever rare black tongue. She is fat and arthritic, and I don’t know how much longer she will be around.

Astro - golden retreiver/malamute mix we had from when i was born until i was 10. Also translates to ass-ho when a cute 3 year old girl yells the name.
Pebbles (the 3rd) - (Preceded by the short-lived Pebbles I & II, similar to Lisa Simpson’s Snowballs) my cat who lived to be 17 and just died a few months ago. She became a bit psycho after moving several times and eventually became an outside-only cat after a few incidents inside.
Scooter - my little brother’s cat who was awesome but got hit by a car a couple years ago.
Humphrey - our basset hound. He’s a big sweetheart but has lymphoma :(
Emmit - (Emmit Smith, like the football player, but not named after him) Our cocker spaniel. Would be nothing without his tennis balls.

Astro - golden retriever/malamute mix we had when I was far too young to remember.
Pebbles - my sister’s cat, how something so small had so much hate I will never know. That thing was evil, and I have the scars to prove it.
Scooter - D: hit by a car!?!? You guys all told me he ran away! I have a feeling this is close to what it feels like to find out you were adopted!
Hephaestus - our first cocker spaniel, named after the Greek God of Smiths, pun totally intended. He had an anger problem, ended up getting hit by a car. At least I knew about this one.
Humphery - our basset hound, that thing had so much love in him, we had to put him down because of his lymphoma
Emmit - our second cocker spaniel, he died shortly after Humphery. It’s still weird not having his countless tennis balls around the house.
Tigger - our grandfather’s cat who is more of a tom cat then anything.

Here’s what Scooter looked like as a kitten! :D

I found this page while looking for an unusually name for my new calico kitten.

We’ve had an assortment of dogs and cats over the years, some with regular names, some a little different. Right now we have two other cats, both black, that are named Mr. Hyde and Pixel.

We had two wolf hybrids that we had to find homes for when we were displaced after hurricane Charley…Nakota and Kachina, they were such grats animals and we miss them a lot but get photos of them every so often so we know they’re well cared for. Other dogs have been Max the Great Dane, Chico the Chihuahua, Mindy Lou the Cocker Spaniel and Rufus the Keeshound. Cats have been Rosy Posey, Roly Poly, Echo, Karma, Magik, Tweek, Bobby, and Mikey (cause he would eat anything)
