Top 5 Favorite Childhood Cartoons
by

5 - Flintstones – My favorite for a long time.  I even named my cat Pebbles.  She recently passed away after a long 17.5 year life.

4 - Tail Spin – I don’t really know why I liked it so much.  Each episode was solid (well, as well as i can remember)

3 - Duck Tales – I had a huge craving to watch this in college one semester, and no matter how hard i searched online I couldn’t find any episodes to download.  They did show it on Toon Disney, but that was not one of the 150 channels we got in the dorms.  The show is available on DVD now though. :)

2 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – a solid favorite of anyone in our generation.

1 - Animaniacs – Between Pinky and the Brain and the Godfeathers, how could you not love this show?

    5 – Jetsons

4 – Also Tail Spin, and I also don’t know why

    3 – Inspector Gadget

2 – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

1 – Ghostbusters. Period. Non-negotiable. Until I was 7 I wanted to BE a Ghostbuster. I thought it was a legitimate career option. I had ALL of the toys, the backpack, the trap, my mom even sewed a Ghostbusters patch on a red jump-suit I had. My grandma was a afraid I was going to turn out weird?

I watched a TON of cartoons when I was little. Yet thinking back, there were not a lot that were all that good.

    5) Bobby’s World – This was the first thing I watched every Saturday morning. I couldn’t understand why the best show was on at 8am.
    4) M.A.S.K. – I always liked this better than Transformers. I wanted the toys so bad, but I only had a couple of them.
    3) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – I think there is something wrong if you didn’t enjoy this one.
    2) Freakazoid! – I’ve found that most people missed this one. The comedy was amazingly random and I loved every bit of it. In college a friend managed to get all the episodes, I think I still have them somewhere. They need to be busted out. Laugh-out-loud hilarious.
    1) Animaniacs – I count Pinky & the Brain in with them.

    5. Jetsons

    4. Winne the Pooh – Tigger is the most underrated comedic talent of his generation.

    3. Flinstones

    2. Garfield – Dry, Witty, a satirical masterpiece

    1. Alvin and the Chipmunks – You all know the theme song, and their version of that Christmas Song they do is still played on the radio.

    1. Care Bears…not gonna lie, I was excited when they became popular again
    2. Scooby Doo…Yep, I was one of the many naive kids who didn’t realize that the ghost was ALWAYS the guest character for that day
    3. Sheera/He-Man…(A favorite Halloween costume in my house)
    4. Gummi Bears (To this day, I get the theme song stuck in my head whenever I think about it… aka right now haha)
    5. My Little Pony Tales…what? they were cute!

    5. Doug – One of the original 3 “Nicktoons” with Rugrats and Ren & Stimpy on Sunday morning. I used to beg to miss church to watch. If it’s good enough to risk eternal damnation, it’s good enough to make the list.
    4. Dennis the Menace – I used to watch the cartoon version every day after school.
    3. Danger Mouse – He’s british, fights crime, and has a hiliarous sidekick. What’s not to love! Plus the theme song is highly addictive.
    2. Duck Tales – I would still watch this if I could find it on TV. I used to daydream about going for a swim in the Money Bin.
    1. Inspector Gadget – The probably grew out of my love for Don Adams in “Get Smart.” Inspector gadget combined wit and humor with just the right amount of wacky gadgetry and explosions. Gotta love Dr. Claw.

    5. Jetsons

    4. Danger Mouse – He is British, but I won’t hold that against him. I agree with Dave that the seem song is highly addictive.

    3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

    2. Transformers – Contrary to what they tell us on Family Guy, I don’t believe that Optimus Prime is Jewish.

    1. GI JOE – One of the greatest cartoons ever made. Why did they never show Cobra Commander’s face? Who is he supposed to be, the neighbor from “Home Improvement”?

This was another tough one for me, cause I honestly can’t remember the cartoons I watched as a child. I also stopped watching cartoons before most children.

    5) Captain Planet – Watched it every Saturday morning
    4) Duck Tales
    3) Tail Spin
    2) Any one of the superhero cartoons- X-Men, Spiderman, Batman, etc
    1) He-man – It was the only one I could really remember watching a lot. I was obsessed with it.

I would add Ghostbusters and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but I don’t think I regularly watched the cartoons….I was more obsessed with the movies and still am.
