Top 5 Concerts Attended

5) Lucky Boys Confusion – Free concert at school. Ouside, they played at 2pm. It was pouring. I think there were 25 people watching them, 3 of which knew the songs. It was awesome.

4) Oasis – Because it was my first, maybe 1998. Cornershop opened. You might remember Cornershop from their song Brim Full of Asha. Apparently that was their only English song. I swear one of their songs went on for 45 minutes. Oasis put on a great show and they were my favorite band at the time.

3) Fall Out Boy – I first saw them Fall of 2003. They were the first of 4 bands, Rufio being the headliner. It was on a Sunday and the place was half empty.

2) Good Charlotte – This was free at school. The room was not made for concerts. The place was packed and everyone was going nuts. This was my Freshman Year, 2001. Way before Good Charlotte was too popular and too not good anymore.

1) Blink 182/Green Day – Wound up in the 2nd row behind the pit for Green Day. This was before American Idiot. They played all of their hits. Sadly, Blink 182 followed them. I love Blink but they should not follow Green Day.

Top 5 Things I Miss Now That I’m In The Real World

5. Cheap Alcohol – I could get a couple of pitchers of beer during a happy hour in college for what I am paying now for a draught.

4. Not having to pay so many bills – Kind of obvious, but from paying back school loans to paying off credit cards, it can be quite the pain.

3. Not worrying about being mature 70% of the time – It was always nice knowing you didn’t have to act like an adult yet.

2. Free Stuff – Seriously, think about all the free stuff you got living under your parents roof, and then all the free food and flair you would get in college. Nothing beats that.

1. Not having to wake up early to go to work/school 5 days a week – As much as it doesnt bother me to get up early, I still liked when you could not have an early class or had the opportunity to skip class. You can’t do that with work really.

5. Super Mario Brothers – Please don’t let the movie tarnish the reputation of this game.
4. Grand Theft Auto 3
3. Legend of Zelda
2. NHL 94 – Solid game every year, but 94 was the last year with blood after fights.
1. Halo – Words cannot do this game justice. Nothing is more fulfilling than beating the game on Legendary. Many hours of my college life were spent on this game.

5.  Getting Coffee – Sometimes, if you’re really bored, you can just get up and walk really slowly to the coffee maker.  This can shave a good 5 to 10 minutes off the clock.  Carrying papers with you makes you look more official.

4.  Reading the News – CNN is always a nice diversion, and if you get caught, you can  just say you’re keeping up with current events.

3.  Staring straight ahead – If you work at it, you can actually train yourself to shut off your brain and stare at a spreadsheet for long periods of time.  Hours can disappear like seconds.

2.  The Daily Email – chatting it up with friends makes the day more bearable.

1.  Bathroom trips – Nothing is more satisfying than dropping a deuce on the company dime!

5 - Flintstones – My favorite for a long time.  I even named my cat Pebbles.  She recently passed away after a long 17.5 year life.

4 - Tail Spin – I don’t really know why I liked it so much.  Each episode was solid (well, as well as i can remember)

3 - Duck Tales – I had a huge craving to watch this in college one semester, and no matter how hard i searched online I couldn’t find any episodes to download.  They did show it on Toon Disney, but that was not one of the 150 channels we got in the dorms.  The show is available on DVD now though. :)

2 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – a solid favorite of anyone in our generation.

1 - Animaniacs – Between Pinky and the Brain and the Godfeathers, how could you not love this show?

The topic is pretty self-explanatory.  It is a difficult question to ponder however, do you prefer the warm and fuzzy feel-good crap, or does a more depressing flavor wet your appetite?  As for me:

5. Love, Actually.  Does a good job of intertwining the storylines, you’ve got Christmas as a backgound for some solid dry, British comedy.

4. Home Alone (1 and 2).  I group these films together for obvious reasons.  I like New York as a backdrop in the second film, but the house of tricks in the original trumps the abandoned brownstone in number 2.

3.  Scrooged.  The type of movie I have to watch whenever it is on tv.  The best version of Dicken’s “A Christmas Carol”, and Bill Murray is just at the top of his game.

2. It’s a Wonderful Life.  Most people put this at number 1, which is why I put it at number two.  Underrated for it’s comedic moments.  Donna Reed may be the hottest actress of the black and white era.

1.  National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.  This one has it all.  Nothing beats Randy Quaid pumping out the septic tank or Clark’s rant at the end of the film.

1) People who slurp coffee/soup/etc. at their desks.

2) Anyone who calls me sweetie, darling, honey, kid, asks my age, etc…

3) The guy who wedges himself in the corner seat in our weekly board meeting, props his head up on the corner-walls, falls asleep, and farts

4) Creepy old men

5) Printer nazis

The Top 5 are the highlights, I could go on all day around here…

Top Five TV Shows Currently On

I’m limiting this to shows on the Fall schedule. 24 and Scrubs won’t be on my list but would be right up at the top if they were on right now.

1. The Office
2. Lost
3. Heroes
4. Veronica Mars
5. How I Met Your Mother

The Office is far and away the front runner here. Not only is it the funniest show on right now, I’ve even been on board for the romantic parts of the show that some people seem to hate. Needless to say, I’m pumped for the new love triangle.

I liked Lost a lot better watching them straight through on DVD. Still its an incredibly well done show that I couldn’t give up on even if it started to get really bad.

Heroes shot into the list quickly this season, its leveled off but I’m expecting big things the rest of the way.

Veronica Mars continues to be solid and I don’t know anyone besides my sister and I that watch the show. There is something very wrong with that. I don’t think anyone has watched the show, because I only think it takes one to get hooked.

I missed the first season of How I Met Your Mother and I’m kicking myself. Its been hilarious every week.

Others:
Studio 60 is inconsistent so far. One week its the best episode of the TV season and the next its blah. I think it has huge potential and am really happy that it got a whole season.
Grey’s Anatomy came into the season with high hopes. I have a love-hate relationship with the show but right now I hate it because its boring not because the characters are being evil.
